What will we do when coal,oil and gas runs out?

I'm trying to do a project 4 school. The question of the assignment is ';Coal, oil and natural gas are going to run out, what will we do then';.


Anyone got any useful websites or an answer to my question?What will we do when coal,oil and gas runs out?

I figured out the article. If you can get your hands on the September 2006 issue of Scientific American, they have a ton of articles about what you're looking for. The specific article I was thinking of is called ';Pland B for Energy,'; which highlights different technologies that are being researched.

lol in my opinion this is more of a political question than anything but anyways. I honestly think that our government has some other resources that they aren't letting us know about yet. Why? because if we knew that would lose them money...as we all know gas prices are getting higher and higher pretty much every day...so why would the government jump in now and tell us of this alternate fuel source when it would end up losing them billions...
nothing can be done then,if something has to be done,it has to be done now.cut down on global population.





anyways,nuclear energy and antimatter can serve as replacements.furthermore,antimatter has 100% fuel efficiency and is pollution free.for more information on antimatter,just google it.

Well, probably oil will run out then we'll use coal, wood and natural gas. But then maybe these alternative fuels initiatives the current administration is trying to encourage will take off and actually gain some ground. You any of us could start now.





Any diesal engine can be adjusted so it can run off of used vegetable oil, it just costs a lot to get the information you need to get started. And also any diesal engine can run off of biodiesal if you have a facility that sells it nearby. The only issue with biodesiel is that pure biodiesal becomes gelatinous in colder temperatures.





Hopefully we'll find a synthetic petroleum we can use to make plastics, and run off other energy sources for power and cars.
hybrit energy, solar energy, turbo magnetic energy.
We will need to develop solar energy... Solar energy is so awesome... Did you know that 20 minutes of sun light can give us enough energy for the state of California homes and business to run there electricity for 3 months... Now that is POWER... Don't you agree...
hmm i think we will all have to change our cars to use bio fuel and we could still use electricity from the wind and the sea
OK....here is my hippie theory.


the odds are that when we run out the bigger nations in the middle east like Iran and all the others will have huge reserves of oil and gas. one by one countries will fall into crisis without oil to keep homes heated and cars running. dispirit for fuel. it will be world war 3. nations will team up to keep there supply safe. we will be sending armies not only to protect are allies oil but to take are own from other country's. oil shipping from across the sea will need to be protected by the navy just to get to our shore. after a 5 year war country will slowly run out of receive and die. poverty will be rapid and the country's that were able to keep there oil safe and or to take others oil will be weak from years of war. we wont be able to help the other country's that have been raped for there supply. the USA will be the weakest trying to fight off the Russians and china from raking the rest of our reserve. Russia comes from the north into Alaska first china comes from Cuba as a port. we warn them to back off but these are times of need. country's are in poor shape people are starving. by now consumer fuel is no longer a option as it is going just to keep the war machine going. the country's that can no longer defend themselves are used as ways into other country's. at the end in a act of last resort a nuke is flown straight into the heart of the leading force ( china most likely ) and it is a nuclear. after the world has been blasted. there is no more government. if there is the is no more order. we lack the resource to rebuild. communication has been lost. everyone who has survived has gone to planting crops or looking for food in old war torn city's.


it will take 10 years just for everyone to get back on there feet to just talk to each other on the phone. some will country's will be stronger than other but we can not help the weak. crime will be every were no more order. governments start them collapse. they cant even get a start because there are people that want into power. but there is no power. half of the world is in the dark. they don't no what is going on in there own nation. there is no phones no lights. only the lucky ones have those. the ones who could rebuild. it will be at least 20 years before everything get CLOSE to were it was before. some places there are no hope. but we can only watch as reports come in of are allies troubles. war will start again with what weapons some country have left to keep everything in order. soon all government everywhere will be no more. and we will be were we started in the beginning of time. just trying to stay alive. and the world will be dark. messages will stop coming from other parts of the world as well as other parts of are country. and we will sit there. until there is hope again.

get cold and eat raw fish and build fires like they use to lol on a more serious note our government is looking into building more nuclear power stations and solar energy plus solar windmills.

It has been proven that human enginuity overcomes any challenge so we will have switched to new sources of energy (solar, wind, water, etc) before we have ran out of oil etc.
Stay at home and eat raw food.
Ask yourself this, what did people do before fossil fuels? Seems to me people survived just fine without fossil fuels for years.
We will find an alternate method of fuel. We already have engines that run on alcohol, oils and other alternative fuels. We will probably be more dependent on electric vehicles that use batteries and solar energy to power them.





The bottom line is that we will adapt. We will use what we have available and life will continue to thrive.
Your research will show that you, I and everyone living on planet Earth will be long dead before that happens. The question is just there to scare you into going green. It's a hoax.

I would water use as energy, still very long way. But that's probably the best solution for the future,
This is going to be unpopular, but here goes...





We won't run out of coal or oil. It will become stupidly expensive over time.





Solar will likely not be economical in the quantities that we need.





Please, people, hydrogen is not a source of energy! It is a way to store energy.





Traditional nuclear power is about the only alternative. We can use nuclear power to generate hydrogen.
